Bricket Wood Society

29th December 2008, 11:01am

The Bricket Wood Society, which was formed in 1977, explores all aspects of the local area from pre-historic times, through to the Roman period, and on to the modern day, with an interest in the environment and natural history.

The Society holds quarterly meetings at the United Reformed Church Hall, West Riding, Bricket Wood, commencing at 8.00pm.

Apart from four open meetings a year (usually on the first Tuesday of March (AGM), June, September and November), when they invite speakers to talk on a subject relevant to the area, the Society aims to hold a social event in January and an outing in August. It also organises, local walks from time to time.

A range of merchandise is available from the Bricket Wood Society, which uses local themes and includes items such as teacloths, table-mats, fruite knives and mugs. A catalogue is available on request.
