The Bill actress stars in new Palace play

A well-known face from ITV series The Bill is set to star in a new play that hits the Watford Palace Theatre stage from 15 April.

Trudie Goodwin, who is best known for the role of sergeant June Ackland in The Bill will star as Mrs Reynolds in the new play by Gary Owen, Mrs Reynolds and the Ruffian.  

The play focuses on the relationship between Mrs Reynolds, a little old lady, and Jay, a troubled youth who is caught vandalising her garden.  As ‘community payback’ Jay is sent back to help Mrs Reynolds fix the damage he caused and a friendship is born. The surprising bond is strengthened when Mrs Reynolds discovers she is suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. 

The play was specially commissioned for the theatre and will be directed by artistic director, Brigid Larmour.  
Trudie Goodwin appeared as sergeant June Ackland in The Bill from 1983 until 2007 making her the longest serving cast member of the programme.
